Corey McCormick was born on November the 16th in a small town in California called Truckee. He took an early interest in music and art. At the age of 8, Corey and his family moved out of the confines of Truckee and into the colorful, cultured, greater Los Angeles area. Music was all around and Corey began to experiment more with it.

Throughout college, he prolifically played in bands and developed his craft. About halfway through school, he picked up an upright bass, and found his musical voice. From that point on, bass guitar became his primary instrument, and a part of his life that would take him all around the world.

In the early summer of 2003, Corey McCormick graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a degree in classical Bass. That summer proved to be more than interesting for Corey. He began playing with a guitarist named Rafael Moriera (Pink, Rock Star Supernova). They recorded Rafael’s solo debut on Neofusion called Acid Guitar. The pair later formed their own group called Magnetico, which featured The Big Pill drummer Joey K.

Soon after The Big Pills demise, he started playing bass with a well-known reggae artist named Élan (Interscope Records) and toured throughout Europe and America. Things were starting to get busy. Then out of the blue at a Magnetico rehearsal, Rafael received a pho ne call about an audition with rock legend Chris Cornell. Corey accompanied him on the audition. The years of hard work and dedication paid off, as Corey became Chris Cornell’s Bass Player. This gig has taken him all over the globe, and has allowed him to play in front of Millions of fans.

Make sure to be on the look out for Corey and the bands he plays with. His style is unique and smooth. His influences range from Miles, to Metallica, Stevie Wonder to Soundgarden, Black Sabbath to Sting and from Bach to Stravinsky.
